This painting is based on a photo I shot on film on a hike with relatives last Summer - I love the slow intentionality in film photography. The Common Lascar (pantoporia hordonia) is found in tropical and subtropical Asia where they tend to settle on the ground or in low vegetation. Calm, still air gave me a chance to record his departing beauty before an oncoming return to Earth.
